Emergency plane lands in Faro after sudden pilot illness

An EasyJet plane connecting Luton, UK, and Agadir, Morocco, made an emergency landing this morning at 10:45 am at Faro, after the pilot of the aircraft "became incapacitated due to sudden illness", he said, Sul Informação, source of the Regional Command of Emergency and Civil Protection.

According to the same source, the alert was given at 10:22 am, having activated the Prior Intervention Plan at the Faro and declared the Red Alert.

A total of 77 operatives and 37 vehicles were mobilized for the Airport, but the landing ended up proceeding without incident.

The pilot of the plane was assisted and transported to the Hospital of Faro.
