ARS do Algarve renews protocols with 14 integrated long-term care units

In Aljezur, Castro Marim, Faro, Lagoa, Loulé, Olhão, Portimão, Silves and Tavira

The Regional Health Administration of the Algarve renewed program contracts with 14 inpatient units of integrated continuous care, from nine municipalities in the region (Aljezur, Castro Marim, Faro, Lagoa, Loulé, Olhão, Portimão, Silves and Tavira).

The agreements were made with seven Long-Term and Maintenance Units (ULDM), five Medium-Term Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Units (UMDR) and two Convalescence Units, within the scope of the National Network of Integrated Continuing Care (RNCCI) of the Algarve, which currently has a total of 532 beds, 74 for convalescence, 142 for medium-term internments and rehabilitation and 316 for long-term internments and maintenance.

In Aljezur, the contract between the Algarve ARS and the ULDM of Casa da Criança do Rogil was renewed. In Castro Marim, the agreement was with a unit of the same type, managed by the Association of Social Welfare of the Parish of Azinhal

Em Faro, in addition to the contract with the Santa Casa da Misericórdia Farense ULDM, ARS signed an agreement with the two units of the Algarve Foundation for Social Development, in Estoi, one for Long Term and the other for Medium Term.

The Long Term and Maintenance Unit of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Estômbar, in Lagoa, was another of those contemplated, as well as the UMDR of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Loulé and the Cultural and Social Support Association of Olhão.

In Portimão, the agreements with Al-Vita, PRO-FN, Health Services and with Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Portimão were renewed, relating, in both cases, to a Convalescence unit and a Medium Duration and Rehabilitation unit.
In Silves and Tavira, the protocols referred, respectively, to the Long Term and Maintenance Units of Lar Quinta de São Sebastião (Algoz) and of the Portuguese Red Cross – Humanitarian Center of Tavira (Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo).

The protocol signing ceremonies took place at the headquarters of ARS Algarve in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ARS Algarve, Paulo Morgado, the Director of the District Center of Faro from the Social Security Institute, Margarida Flores, from the Coordinator of the Regional Coordination Team for Continuing Integrated Care in the Algarve, Fernanda Faleiro, and from the representatives of each of the Inpatient Units.
