Pinheiro and Rosa School Group participates in Med Diet Declaration Project

The project culminated with a seminar entitled «Mediterranean Diet: a multidisciplinary approach in promoting a common vision»

The Professional Course in Cooking and Pastry at the Pinheiro and Rosa School Group, from Faro, was represented by head teachers André Pereira Rodrigues and Luís de Almeida e Jesus at the closing ceremony of the Project Med Diet Declaration, which took place at the University of Algarve, on 27 April.

The closing took place within the framework of the seminar entitled “Mediterranean Diet: a multidisciplinary approach in promoting a common vision”.

For the Professional Course in Cooking and Pastry, «this certification proves the good practices that teachers have developed during the training of young future cooks, as well as encouraging young people to be interested in a more balanced lifestyle by developing good practices and smart choices in their practical classes».

«During the seminar, it was possible to create a good network of contacts that will bring new projects to this group of schools in the future», adds AE Pinheiro e Rosa.

The head teachers add that “it has been very gratifying to teach in this grouping of schools where it has been fantastic to develop several projects that have had sustainability, Mediterranean food, circular economy, food reeducation as their objectives”.

Through these projects, they also say, the school has contributed «to some of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 agenda: SDG 2 – Eradicate Hunger; SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 12 – Sustainable Production and Consumption».
