Pinheiro e Rosa Secondary School and Zer0 Museum receive international study visit

This project is part of the School Cultural Project of the Pinheiro e Rosa School Group, within the scope of the National Arts Plan.

The Pinheiro and Rosa School Grouping, from Faro, and the Zer0 Museum will receive, from today until the 9th, an international study visit with the presence of all partners, integrated in the Projeto Projeto EXPLORE+ creative exploration of curiosity for innovative transdisciplinary, STEAM and social learning, within the scope of the European Program Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships creativity (KA227).

This visit will have the theme “Youth Cultures and Participation” and will include a visit to the city of Faro, using digital technologies, presentation of various projects, in addition to the presentation and discussion of the Charter of Porto Santo (by the National Commissioner of the National Plan for the Arts, Paulo Pires do Vale).

Among the partners are the cities that are involved in the candidacy processes for European Capital of Culture (Timisoara- Romania and Chemnitz- Germany, already defined as European Capitals of Culture in 2023 and 2025 respectively, and Faro and Cesis, in Latvia, candidates for 2027).

This project «links schools and civil society, in a Strategic Partnership, to implement STEAM methodologies (from the English acronym for Science, Technologies, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) in an interdisciplinary work perspective of the school curriculum and the introduction of creative and artistic methodologies in the educational process», explains the Pinheiro and Rosa School Group.

Em Faro, the partnership includes the Pinheiro e Rosa Secondary School (and the 10th grade classes of the Scientific-Humanistic courses) and the Zer0 Museum, at the invitation of the structure dedicated to the preparation of the proposal for Faro the European Capital of Culture 2027.

Based on the essential learning of the different subjects of the Scientific-Humanistic Courses, «over two academic years, activities will be developed, tested and systematized in the Secondary School classes of AE Pinheiro e Rosa, using the STEAM methodology, with the support of the Museum Zer0 within the scope of its work of cultural mediation for Digital Art».

This project is part of the School Cultural Project of the Pinheiro e Rosa School Group, within the scope of the National Arts Plan, and includes three study visits to the countries involved, the implementation of an Arts and Technologies Fair, the creation of a Manual of Activities with the work developed and a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) to disseminate the Manual, in addition to holding a final conference as part of the Timisoara European Capital of Culture 2023 program.
