The Chamber of São Brás de Alportel signed 21 protocols to support the associative fabric of the municipality, with a global value of almost half a million euros, in a session that took place on Monday, February 28, at Cineteatro São Brás.
For the municipality, these support are “an important investment in the cultural, sporting and social dynamics of the municipality, which involves the entire São Brasense community”.
In addition to the 463.831 euros that will be distributed to two dozen communities under these annual agreements, “lesser amounts of aid will be given to support activities carried out by the rest of the communities that carry out activities of a non-systematic nature”.
«Investing in our associations is investing in people and in the quality of life of our municipality, and this associative dynamic is even one of the attractive factors of our municipality», said Vítor Guerreiro, Mayor of São Brás de Alportel.
The 2022 Municipal Support Plan for Associativism was approved at a chamber meeting, on February 15, “and took into account the current pandemic context, having therefore introduced a set of exceptional measures aimed at the financial balance and sustainability of associations until return to normality”.
