Sam Mendes is the new coach of Almancilense, announced this Thursday, March 31, this Algarve club that disputes the District Championship.
The coach will already guide Almancil's team in Saturday's game, at Louletano B.
Sam Mendes has passed through the training categories of Campinense, Internacional de Almancil, Quarteirense and São Luiz, but this is the first senior team he will guide.
“In fact, it's a project I've been wanting to do for some time. Of course, grassroots football has its ways of working, and it's not taken too seriously in terms of scores and rankings. With seniors, it's a more serious job that I'm going to take from start to finish as closely as possible”, he says.
For the remaining games, the coach says that the objective is to “win”.
André Leman, president of Almancilense, thanks former coach Luís Moreira who is now leaving.
