Portuguese quartet already has a defined path in the 12th edition of the Loulé Open

There were no games today due to bad weather

Tiago Cação, Luís Faria, Pedro Araújo and Fábio Coelho, the four Portuguese tennis players confirmed in the main singles table of the 12th edition of the Loulé Open, got to know their respective courses in the tournament this Monday. The rain dictated the cancellation of the second round of the international tournament that was scheduled for today.

Number 480 in the ATP ranking, Tiago Cação was the only Portuguese representative to have a direct entry into the main singles table and will face the Spanish Alejandro Moro Canas (481st) in the first round.

Pedro Araújo, who at the 2021 Loulé Open (postponed to October) reached the semi-finals of a US$25.000 international tournament for the first time, is number 758 in the world and received one of four wild cards available to the organization.

The Lisbon native, current national absolute vice-champion, has an appointment with Norwegian Viktor Durasovic (323rd and fifth seed).

Luís Faria (735th) and Fábio Coelho (998th) were also awarded with invitations to the main frame, but will have to wait for the end of the qualifying to meet the first opponents. Due to rain, Tuesday's matchday will be dedicated to the last two rounds of the qualifying round.

the last wild card was given to Frenchman Jules Marie (former top 250), which won all five rounds of the tournament wild card organized in the last few days.

The 12th Loulé Open has as its first seed the Japanese Kaichi Uchida (251st ATP), who returns to the Loulé Tennis Club to try to defend the title won four months ago.
