Rain forecast in the south for the day when spring begins

There will still be a lot of wind

Faro, Beja and five other mainland districts will be, this Sunday, March 20, the day when spring begins, under yellow warning due to the forecast of rain, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms.

According to the Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA), the yellow warning covers the districts of Faro, Beja, Évora, Setúbal, Santarém, Lisbon and Leiria and will be in effect between 12 pm and 18 pm.

The forecast points to showers, sometimes strong and accompanied by thunderstorms, and which may occasionally be hail.

The districts of Faro and Beja are still under yellow warning, between 8 am and 15 pm, because of the strong southeasterly wind, with gusts up to 80 kilometers per hour.
