The Parish of Tavira organizes, this Friday, March 4, from 21:00, a Way of the Cross of prayer for peace in Ukraine.
This prayer will be presided over by Father Oleg Trushko, assistant to the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic community in the Algarve, and will be attended by the Ukrainian community residing in the Algarve.
«We are not indifferent to the suffering of our brothers and sisters», says Miguel Neto, parish priest of Tavira.
The Way of the Cross will begin in Bairro da Atalaia, towards the Church of São Sebastião.
“We are in solidarity and our Christian heart makes us want to be united in prayer, asking for an end to this war that has no justification”, he adds.
Father Miguel Neto also appeals to everyone to participate.
“Believers and non-believers, Catholics and members of other religious denominations, all citizens, nationals or foreigners, visitors or residents, are invited to participate in this prayer. It will be a moment to show that we can be united with those who suffer and that, for a long time, they have been part of the lives of our communities, our lands, working and studying with us! It is a moment to truly show that humanity is one and that we are all brothers!», he concludes.
