The new government of António Costa, which, in addition to the prime minister, has 17 ministers and 38 secretaries of State, took office this Wednesday, March 30, at Palácio da Ajuda, in Lisbon.
In his speech, António Costa said that “the Portuguese expect from us a government that solves problems and creates opportunities”.
The prime minister also listed his four goals for this legislature: “responding to the climate emergency, ensuring the digital transition, countering the demographic winter and combating inequalities”.
The President of the Republic, on the other hand, considered that the absolute majority «serves the Government to do what has to be done».
