A 74-year-old woman was reportedly strangled by her husband this Sunday in Lagos. The 77-year-old man committed suicide. They were found dead by their son.
The fact that the woman suffers from depression and Alzheimer's may have been at the origin of the crime, which is being investigated by the Judiciary Police (PJ). The alert to the PSP was given around 6:15 am on Sunday by the couple's son. The man received a message, sent from his father's cell phone, asking him to urgently go to his parents' home.
When he arrived he found his parents already dead. The mother's body was on the bed, covered, and had ropes around her neck. Her father was hanged in the backyard.
