Equality in STEM careers is the theme of international exchange by the João de Deus School Group

Two students and two teachers are in Milan until the 13th

Students of the 11th year of Science and Technology, Alexandre Oliveira and Diana Miguel, accompanied by teachers Cláudia Cardoso and Maria João Oliveira, from Escola Secundária João de Deus, will participate, on behalf of Portugal, in an exchange that takes place between the 7th and 13th of March, in Milan, as part of the Erasmus+ project “Equal Place in STEM Career and Digital World”.

This exchange involves students from schools in five different European countries, namely France, Turkey, Romania, Italy and Portugal.

The aim is to “exchange best practices in the development of the training curriculum, sharing examples of successful practices, models and strategies, aiming to overcome stereotypes generally established for girls and young women, so that they feel motivated to engage in a rewarding and rewarding career. success in the areas of ICT and/or STEM (from the English acronym Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)».

During the exchange, STEAM project activities and others will be implemented to raise awareness of the reality of the contemporary world on STEM issues and opportunities, especially in the area of ​​climate change, and gender equality issues will be discussed.
