Docapesca launches 2nd edition of the mARTE artistic expression contest

Contest recognizes work carried out by fishermen under the project “Fishing for a Sea Without Garbage”

Docapesca – Portos e Lotas, SA, an entity of the State business sector supervised by the Ministry of the Sea, whose object is the exploitation of Fishing Ports and Lotas, launched the second edition of the artistic expression contest “mARTE”.

The competition focuses on the reuse of marine litter in the creation of art and is open to the entire population. Three works will be awarded, each with a prize of 1.000 euros, which will be exhibited in one of the fishing ports managed by Docapesca.

As in the first edition, the contest aims to recognize the work carried out by fishermen within the scope of the project “Fishing for a Sea Without Garbage”, which promotes the collection of waste caught during fishing, raises awareness of the problem of marine litter and promotes national artists. and international.

The works will be evaluated and selected by a jury made up of the artist Xico Gaivota (president of the Jury), the journalist Edgardo Pacheco (public newspaper) and Flávia Silva (biologist at the Oceano Azul Foundation).
