The “Disrupt'22” ideas contest and a session on the Algarve as a destination for lifestyle will mark the program of the Algarve Tech Hub Summit (ATHS) this Friday, the 5th day of the event, at the Penha Campus of the University of Algarve (UAlg) and at the Recreation and Cultural Association of Musicians, in Faro.

In the morning, the startup competition of “Disrupt'22” starts at Campus da Penha, where speakers will set the tone to inspire and empower competitors, who, the next day, will present the pitch of their innovative projects.

«The event welcomes, among others, Ben Marks (#workanywhere), Alex Agius Saliba and Sara Mathieu (European Parliament), Drew Smith (Zoom), André Marquet (Productized), Hugo Lourenço (Agile Thinkers) and experts Michelle Peterson- Clark on NFT and marketing and Marco Peereboom on blockchain. During the afternoon, there are workshops on cybersecurity, metaverse, crypto and blockchain, IoT and AI.

This three-day innovation event (between March 31 and April 2) « aims to develop new ideas and create new digital products in the areas of Business Intelligence, AI – Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, SaaS, IoT – Internet of Things. There are 20 thousand euros, between monetary prizes and vouchers for technological products and services, to be shared between the three winners of the competition aimed at the academic community, entrepreneurs, researchers and entrepreneurs».

At 14:00 pm, in the Siga room of the Associação Recreativa e Cultural de Músicos, the “Algarve Destination & Lifestyle Conference” begins, which “will introduce those who have chosen to live in the Algarve, develop their projects and businesses remotely or support digital nomads”. ».

«In this session, among others, Alice and Julien Mayot, entrepreneurs in the area of ​​toys between San Francisco and Silves, Edouard Rollet and Ilse Keijzer, owners of Quinta Bohemia and entrepreneurs in the area of ​​organic and fair trade foods and chocolate, between California and Moncarapacho, Ramin and Firuza, from Azerbaijan, lead Floovly, a flower subscription service from the Algarve, chef Leonel Pereira, from the Check-In restaurant Faro, the researcher at the University of Algarve, Luísa Barreira, who develops work, for example, in the area of ​​microalgae and biofuel, the person responsible for the community of digital nomads in Lagos, Joana Glória, and Fábio Zacarias, president of the Student Association of the University of Algarve», according to the organization of ATHS.

At 18:XNUMX there will be a “Culture and Tech Talk”, promoted by the Municipality of Faro, under the theme "The new cultural vision for the Fábrica da Cerveja”, with the cultural producer Pablo Berástegui, the architect Gonçalo Louro and Carlos Martins, from Opium, a company dedicated to cultural, territorial and economic planning.
