Commissioner Elisa Ferreira participates in events on innovation and cohesion in Faro and Loulé

Participates in the “Inova Algarve 2.0” conference and does not participate in the official launch of the UAlg TEC Campus

Elisa Ferreira, European Commissioner responsible for Cohesion and Reforms, will be in Loulé and in Faro, next Tuesday, March 29th.

The program starts with his participation in the conference “Inova Algarve 2.0” where he will speak at 10 am, on “Recovery, Cohesion, Innovation”, in the auditorium of NERA (Loteamento Industrial de Loulé).

The event, which takes place under the Algarve Tech Hub Summit, aims to support the development of innovation processes, stimulating cooperation and competition practices, raising awareness and training SMEs for the critical factors of competitiveness in the fields of innovation. During the afternoon, the Commissioner is at the University of Algarve at the invitation of Paulo Águas, rector of the University of Algarve.

At 14:00 pm, on the Penha campus, he participates in the official launch of the UAlg TEC Campus and in a meeting with companies. The UAlg TEC Campus is a technology hub that works as a business accelerator and is co-financed by European funds.

At 16:30 pm, the Commissioner discusses cohesion policy with students in a conversation moderated by Alexandre Moura from Rádio Universitária do Algarve – RUA. This debate takes place on the Gambelas campus (Red Auditorium of the Faculty of Economics, Building 9) and can be followed live on UAlg's YouTube channel.

The visit ends at 18:00 at the Gambelas campus, with a meeting between the Commissioner and representatives of the Ukrainian community and associations active in supporting the reception of refugees in the region.
