Covid-19 cases increase, but hospitalizations fall

Today there are 15.068 more cases across the country

Hospital admissions have dropped, both in the ward and in the intensive care units, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) this Tuesday, March 8. Active cases have increased. 

Today, according to the DGS bulletin, the Algarve registers 875 more cases and one death and the Alentejo has 1111 more infected.

These data reflect an increase in the number of cases which, moreover, is in line with what is happening at the national level.

Today there are 15.068 more cases across the country.

According to the report, active cases have increased. Despite the 12.649 recovered, there are now 2.387 more active infections, out of a total of 475.168 across the country.

With regard to hospitalizations, they dropped (-25) to 1225. The number of people in Intensive Care Units also dropped (-3) to 78.

With regard to deaths, the DGS counts 32 more across the country, a number higher than yesterday's 17.

As far as the risk matrix is ​​concerned, it retains yesterday's data.

OR(t) is at 0,84 nationally and at 0,83 excluding Azores and Madeira.

The incidence stands at 1398,1 cases of infection per 100 inhabitants, nationally, and at 1316,3 cases, only on the mainland.
