Algarve Football Association calls on clubs to help host refugees

The initiative is part of a plan launched by the Portuguese Football Federation

The Algarve Football Association appealed to clubs, centers and referees to be «a facilitating element» in the process of welcoming Ukrainian refugees who have arrived in the region.

This initiative is part of a plan launched by the Portuguese Football Federation.

The AFA wants clubs and referee groups to be able to help «either by helping them to find a job offer, accommodation, a useful service or any other type of support that can be provided to these people», he explains, in a press release.

In case of any intervention in the process, interested parties should contact the Algarve Football Association on 916 171 653 or [email protected].

The registration of job offers can be done through the platform of the Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional (IEFP) created specifically for that purpose.

Furthermore, in case there are children involved who are old enough to play football and futsal, the Portuguese Football Federation will finance this practice in the respective clubs.
