DGS daily bulletin ends with Covid-19 data

Current phase «justifies the change in the disclosure standard»

The Directorate-General for Health (DGS) announced this Thursday that, starting tomorrow (March 11th), it will publish a report on the epidemiological and vaccination situation on a weekly basis, which will be published on Friday. .

The DGS explains that the current phase “justifies the change in the disclosure standard”, adding that “both daily reports will be discontinued”.

The new Situation Report will include the number of confirmed cases and deaths in Portugal, accumulated over 7 days, as well as the daily hospital occupancy on the continent, with the respective weekly variation.

The number of cases, hospitalizations and deaths by health region, as well as their distribution by age group, will also be released.

The admissions will reflect the beds occupied with cases of COVID-19, these data being made available by the Central Administration of the Health System (ACSS).

Regarding vaccination, the report will encompass data on vaccine coverage against COVID-19, including initiated, complete and booster vaccinations by age group.

Data on influenza vaccination, whose campaign is nearing completion, will no longer be released.

The Status Report will be published simultaneously with the COVID-19 Monitoring Report.

«This data dissemination model will be adjusted whenever the epidemiological situation justifies it or there is a need to consider other indicators», concludes the DGS.
