UAlg is among the 300 best universities in the world under 50 years old

It is the fifth time that the University of Algarve appears in this Times Higher Education ranking

The University of Algarve appears between 251 and 300 in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings, which analyzes the performance of higher education institutions created 50 years ago or less. This is the fifth time that the Algarve academy appears in this ranking.

In this edition, 10 Portuguese higher education institutions participate, of which only eight are part of this ranking, where UAlg remains prominent in the indicator that assesses international projection.

The THE list only indicates the exact place of institutions up to the 200th position, from which they are classified by intervals, without hierarchy.

This assessment has been published for 11 years, and in this edition the number of institutions increased from 475 in 2021 to 539 in 2022.

Another 251 institutions are still listed with “Reporter” status, which means that they provided data but did not meet the eligibility criteria to receive a rating.

The 13 indicators evaluated are the same used in the Times Higher Education World Ranking of Universities and are organized around five major areas: the quality of teaching and research, citations of scientific articles produced, their relationship with industry or the international projection.
