Sporting wins Futsal League Cup in Loulé

This was the fourth Futsal League Cup won by Sporting

Sporting won the Futsal League Cup after beating great rivals Benfica by 5-2, in the final played this Sunday, February 27, at the Joaquim Vairinhos Municipal Pavilion, in Loulé. 

The lions were early on the marker.

In the 8th minute, and after the expulsion of Rocha (Benfica), Merlim scored the first goal. The same Merlin extended the lead, at 20′.

In the second half, Sporting scored again, but through Pauleta (27′).

Despite losing by two, Benfica didn't throw the towel on the ground and reduced by Bruno Cintra (29′).

The Russian Chishkala made it 3-2, in the 32nd minute, and relaunched the match.

But Sporting scored twice again. Pany Varela scored twice, at 35′ and 39′, and sealed the final result.

After the game, Nuno Dias, coach of the Lions, thanked him for «leading a wonderful team of men». "I feel a proud coach for yet another triumph", he added.

Pulpis, Benfica's coach, was also proud of his team, despite the defeat.

This was the fourth Futsal League Cup won by Sporting.
