District session of the “Youth Parliament” takes place on March 15

In this session, the deputies who will represent the Algarve in the national session will be elected

The district session of the “Parliament of Youth” program will take place on March 15, at 9:30 am, at the Algarve Regional Directorate of the Portuguese Institute for Sports and Youth, in Faro. 

80 young elected “deputies” will participate in this initiative, representing 15 secondary schools: Escola Básica e Secundária de Albufeira, Nobel International School Algarve – Lagoa, Escola Profissional Cândido Guerreiro – CIPRL, ​​Alte, Loulé, Escola Secundária de Loulé, Escola Dr. Francisco Fernandes Lopes, Olhão, Drª Laura Ayres Secondary School – Quarteira, João de Deus Secondary School – Faro, Manuel Teixeira Gomes Secondary School, Portimão, Padre António Martins de Oliveira Secondary School – Lagoa, Pinheiro e Rosa Secondary School – Faro, Tomás Cabreira Secondary School – Faro, Vilamoura International College, Júlio Dantas Secondary School, Lagos, Vila Real de Santo António Secondary School and Albufeira Secondary School.

The "Youth Parliament" seeks to encourage young people's interest in civic and political participation and underline the importance of their contribution to the resolution of issues that affect their individual and collective present and future, making their proposals heard with the organs of power. political.

This year, the theme approved by the Education Commission of the Assembly of the Republic, for the secondary education edition, is: “Fake News: The Impact of Disinformation on Democracy?”

In this district session, the draft recommendation of the district of Faro and elected the young deputies who will represent the Algarve, at the National Session of the Youth Parliament – ​​2021/2022, which will take place, in the Assembly of the Republic, on the 30th and 31st of May.
