A vigil of solidarity with the Ukrainian people and for peace will take place this Saturday, February 26, at Praça Gil Eanes, in Lagos.
This is an initiative of the Ukrainian community in the Algarve, together with the PS of Lagos, which are being organized «with a view to the participation of as many people as possible».
The aim is to publicly condemn the Russian offensive against Ukraine, which began in the early hours of Thursday, and to call for an end to the conflict.
That same day, the municipality of Olhão do PAN presented a request for a vote of condolence for the victims of the war, which was unanimously approved.
The members of this municipal body in Olhão also respected «a minute of silence in solidarity for the people of Ukraine and for all victims of this war", according to PAN.
