Man arrested for threatening former partner with shotgun in Silves

Man banned from contact with victim

A 34-year-old man, suspected of beating his former partner with punches and kicks, having also threatened her with a shotgun, was arrested this Saturday, February 19, in Silves. 

According to the GNR, the military went to the suspect's residence, "having detected and seized a shotgun, a compressed air weapon and four cartridges".

The aggressor was arrested and presented to the Judicial Court of Silves, where the coercive measure of banning contacts with the 46-year-old victim and removing him from his residence and place of work was applied.

The action included the reinforcement of the Territorial Posts of Silves and Armação de Pêra and of the Intervention Detachment (DI) of Faro.
