Northwest waves measuring 5 to 6 meters, reaching a maximum height of 10 meters, is the forecast by the Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA) for Saturday on the western coast of the Algarve and on the Alentejo coast.

This stormy situation at sea, which extends to the entire western coast of mainland Portugal, led the IPMA to place this entire coastal strip under the Orange Warning next Saturday, the 19th, at least until 18:00.

In fact, in the northernmost regions, such as the coast of the districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo, Braga, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria and Lisbon, the maximum wave height can reach 11 meters. In total, ten mainland districts will be under orange warning on Saturday due to strong seas forecast.
