Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes will have music, photography and poetry in March

there is a lot to see

Music, photography and poetry dominate the March program at Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes, in Portimão.

The program starts with the exhibition “20×22 – Exhibition of photographs to music”, which brings together images of the transverse flute performer Maria João Cerol, on display between the 5th and 27th of March.

As part of the 24th edition of Março Jovem, Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes will host two expressive photographic exhibitions between the 8th and 31st, organized by the Algarve Regional Directorate of the Portuguese Institute for Sports and Youth.

The first is entitled “X-Ray” and brings together works by Tomás Silva. The second is called “Auction” and is by João Melo (Glantosz).

Jazz will dominate the attention with two workshops: the first of which, scheduled for March 9 at 17 pm, will be on piano, while the next day, at the same time, the instrument covered will be the double bass/bass, in both cases under the guidance of teachers from the Professional Jazz Instrumentalist Course at the Bemposta Basic and Secondary School and guest musicians.

On a different note, the conference “The digital transition for social justice” is scheduled for 17:00 on March 12, organized by the Socialist Youth of Portimão, whose registration must be made at [email protected]

On the 21st of March, from 18:00, students from the Specialized Artistic Music Education, Professional Course of String and Keyboard Instrumentalist at EB da Bemposta, will star in a moment that will combine poetry and classical guitar, entitled "Music and words , the sound and the silence”, under the guidance of professors Maria Alberta Dias and Gonçalo Duarte.

On the 23rd, at 17:00 pm, the proposal will be the “Mãos em moviment” initiative, in charge of students from the Specialized Artistic Music Education and Professional Course for String and Keyboard Instrumentalist at EB da Bemposta, directed by Professor Ana Nunes.

Two days later, at 19:00 pm on the 25th, “Manuel Teixeira Gomes and Music: contemporaries and works of reference” is the theme for an online and face-to-face lecture with Professor Válter Fralda, whose follow-up link will be published in due course on the page on Facebook and on the Bemposta School Group website.

In addition to these relevant artistic suggestions, the Thursdays of the 17th and 24th of March will also be music days at Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes, always starting at 18:00, in the form of recitals performed by students from the Bemposta School Group, while on the 26th, also at 18:00, there will be a commented piano recital with João Rosa and António Alves.
