BTT: Guilherme Jesus wins at home in the start of the Portuguese Enduro Cup

The Portuguese Endurance Cup presented by Shimano started this Sunday, in São Brás de Alportel, with victory for the home athlete Guilherme Jesus (MCF/Xdream/Municipality of São Brás), in the male elite, and Sophie Bagnall (Bicisintra/GásMucifal /2Cycling), in the women's sector.

At the start of the Portuguese Endurance Cup, in the men's elite category, it was Guilherme Jesus (MCF/Xdream/Municipality of São Brás) who took the best, with a final time of 13:02. Brett Wheeler (MCF/Xdream/Municipality of São Brás) was second, at 805 seconds, followed by João Rodrigues (Individual), at 17 seconds.

In the women's sector, the victory went to Sophie Bagnall (Bicisintra/GásMucifal/2Cycling), who completed her race in 16m30s556. Second place went to Sara Ferreira (Maiatos), who finished 44 seconds behind the winner, followed by Ana Leite (AXPO/FirstBike Team/Vila do Conde), at 1m32s.

Matias Camacho (Caniço Riders/2Cycling) was the big winner in the junior category, with Leonel Manteigas (Casa do Povo de Abrunheira) and André Gomes (AD Galomar/Ferrangens Vieira) completing the podium in second and third places, respectively.

As for the cadets, luck was on the side of Simão Cerejo (Individual), who beat Carlos Palmeira (Clube BTT Matosinhos) and Tiago Patrocínio (Movefree/CM Torres Vedras/Cofidis).

In competition were still the juveniles. In this category Nui Tai (Wildpack Algarve Racing) was the winner of the race, with Francisco Ferreira (Caniço Riders/2Cycling) finishing in second place and Rodrigo Bicho (Maiatos) finishing in third place.

In the veteran categories, Gonçalo Gaspar (BTT Enduro Terras de Bouro) won in masters 30, Rúben Martins (Clube ANA Faro) in 35 masters, Márcio Ferreira (Caniço Riders/2Cycling) in 40 masters, José Conceição (Individual) in 45 masters, José Salgueiro (MCF/Xdream/Municipality of São Brás) in 50 masters and Carlos Marques (União Desportiva Lorvanense) in masters 60. In the female masters category, Bianca Oliveira (Individual) came out on top.

In the electric assistance bikes, José Pereira (Bicisintra/GásMucifal/2Cycling) won in the 19/29 category and Pedro Cândido (Caniço Riders/2Cycling) in the +30 Women's +30 category. Ana Luz (Bicisintra/GásMucifal/2Cycling) won in the women's sector.
