Students from the Portimão School of Hospitality and Tourism compete at Interescolas in Portalegre

Main competition of the network of Schools of Tourism of Portugal takes place in Portalegre

Seven students from the School of Hospitality and Tourism (EHT) in Portimão will compete in the 17th edition of Interescolas, which takes place today and tomorrow, the 23rd and 24th, in Portalegre, in an initiative of the Tourism schools of this Alentejo district.

Students from Portimão will compete in different categories, in the areas of food and beverage, cuisine and hotel management:

Leonardo Machado (TCP1) – “Decathlon” category
Mariana Cadete (TRB1) – “Barista” category
Alexandre Brás (TCP2) – category “Vegetarian Cook”
Miguel Dionísio (GBR2) – category “Hotel Management”
Pedro Araújo (GPC2) – “Apprentice Cook”
Tomás Palma (GRB2) – “Bar” category
Duarte Marques (GRB2) – “Joaquim Janeiro Cup” category

Interescolas is the most important competition of the Hotel and Tourism Schools network, challenging more than 130 students to put themselves to the test and try to be the best in any of the 12 categories that make up this initiative.

In the 2022 edition, the Portalegre Hotel and Tourism School will host this event. During two days, participating students will apply their technical knowledge to try to win the respective categories.

Whoever wins will be responsible for representing Portugal in the European finals, which this year will take place between October 17th and 22nd, in Senigallia, Italy.
