Algarve has 3657 more active cases than a week ago, but there are positive signs

Number of new cases in 7 days decreased, compared to the previous week

The number of active cases increased by 3657 in the Algarve within a week; according to the weekly situation of the Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command (CREPC) of the Algarve this Friday, the 4th. Even so, this report shows a slowdown in terms of new cases detected in 7 days, in the region, as well as relief in hospitals.

Starting with the positive indicators, there were 13,657 new cases in the Algarve, from the 28th to midnight on Thursday, the 3rd, a number lower than the number recorded in the previous seven days (+14.622 infected).

There is also a relief in the situation in hospitals. In the same period, the number of patients admitted to the ward dropped from 98 to 82 (-16), while in intensive care the number of patients decreased to 5 (-2). There is a ventilated patient, when a week ago there was none.

 

 

Regarding active cases in the Algarve region, there were 4 yesterday, February 21.074th, the day on which the status report was made. Comparing with the CREPC report from a week ago, there was an increase of 3.657 people who have the active disease. In the previous week, the increase had been lower (+3470).

In numbers accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic, 109.731 cases of Covid-19 have already been registered in the Algarve.

 

 

The deaths caused by this disease in the region, since March 2020, amount to 645 and there have already been 88.012 people to overcome the disease.

In these last two indicators, the rise in one week was 21 more, in terms of fatalities, and 10.267, in relation to recovered.
