Secretary of State for Fisheries participates in a meeting on works in the Port of Baleeira

Contractor postponed works that should have started in September

Teresa Coelho, Secretary of State for Fisheries, participated this Wednesday, January 19, in a meeting at the Lota de Sagres Interpretation Center, where the interventions to be carried out by Docapesca in Porto da Baleeira were discussed. 

Sérgio Faias, president of Docapesca, explained that the public tender that provides for the repositioning of the Floating Pier to support small-scale fishing in the Port of Baleeira was published in the Diário da República, on 17 January, with a base value of around 84 thousand euros and with an expected execution period of 120 days.

Another matter analyzed was the postponement, on the part of the contractor, of the start-up of the contract for the rehabilitation of the Ponte – Cais Sul do Porto da Baleeira, which was scheduled to begin last September and was even announced by Docapesca, at the opening of the Lota de Sagres Interpretation Center.

The meeting was also attended by Rute Silva, mayor of Vila do Bispo, Pedro Palma, captain of the Port of Lagos, Mário Galhardo, president of the Association of Fishing Shipowners of Sagres, and Fábio Mateus, representative of the Organization of Producers of Siege Fishing – Barlapescas.
