Professor António Covas launches new book at the Library of Faro

Book offers insight into a triangulation that is intended to be virtuous: climate change and ecological pact, digital revolution and artificial intelligence and cities of the future and territorial collective intelligence

“Digital Transition and Territorial Collective Intelligence” is the title of the new book by António Covas, retired full professor at the University of Algarve and regular contributor to the Sul Informação, which will be launched on the 25th of January, at 18:00, at the Municipal Library of Faro Antonio Ramos Rosa.

Luís Coelho, coordinator of the Regional Delegation of the Order of Economists in the Algarve, will present the work.

This book offers an insight into a triangulation that is intended to be virtuous: climate change and the ecological pact, the digital revolution and artificial intelligence and the cities of the future and territorial collective intelligence.

Starting from a combination of short texts, Professor António Covas draws attention to the need to know to what extent a given territory is just an object of knowledge or a desired territory, capable of mobilizing enthusiasm and adhesion for a project for the future. . Will we be able to promote a virtuous convergence between the digital transition, the network society and the intelligent management of the territory that allows the production of the desired territory?

António Covas holds a PhD in European Affairs from the University of Brussels and a retired full professor at the University of Algarve. He is still a regular columnist in national newspapers and in the Sul Informação.

In addition to European Studies, a topic on which he has published fourteen books, his research work is particularly focused on territorial and rural policies, an area in which he is also the author of fourteen books.
