Portimonense lost 1-2 to Marítimo, in a game for the I Liga played today, Sunday, December 9, at the Municipal de Portimão, scored by two goals disallowed against the Algarve and a lot of controversy.

The game was lively from the start, but without any dangerous moves until the 30th minute, when Portimonense had a sovereign opportunity to take the lead.

Cláudio Wink, from Marítimo, cut the ball with his hand inside the area and the referee awarded a penalty. Called to convert, Carlinhos put the ball inside the goal, despite having slipped at the moment of the shot.

The referee started by validating the goal but, shortly afterwards and on the advice of the video-referee, annulled it, considering that the Portimonense player had touched the ball twice after slipping.

From that moment onwards, Marítimo grew and could have taken the lead a few minutes later. Thanks to Samuel Portugal, who made an excellent save, with a shot by Diogo Mendes, scoring a direct free-kick.

The game was lively and the last minutes were crazy and full of controversy.

First, it was the Madeirans who were close to the goal again, but Alipour did not hit the target.

In response, Aylton Boa-Morte scored a goal, but the referee invalidated the bid, due to an offside contested by the Portimonense team. The bid was analyzed by VAR, which confirmed the referee's decision.

As soon as the referee gave the signal to confirm that it was offside, the Marítimo goalkeeper quickly put the ball in play and served Rafik Guitane, who put the visitors ahead with a great goal, after 7 minutes of 45 minutes had passed.

The Algarve people protested and gave voice to their revolt, but it was of no use to them. It was 0-1.

In the second half, Portimonense came in determined to score early, but despite the offensive flow, they couldn't reach the tie.

And in the 57th minute, goalkeeper Samuel Portugal was once again denying the goal to the islanders and with two huge consecutive saves.

Despite this scare, Portimonense managed to equalize in the 68th minute, in the conversion of a penalty.

Zainadine brought down Angulo inside the area and the referee had no qualms about pointing to the penalty spot. In the conversion, Fabricio did not fail and made it 1-1.

The Algarve continued to look for the goal, but always with caution in defense, since Marítimo also managed to create a lot of danger, with quick counterattacks.

And it was a throw from the back of the defense, already in added time and at a time when no one predicted that Marítimo could score, which allowed the visitors to put themselves in front again.

The islanders recovered the ball in midfield, Vidigal received the ball on the left, isolated himself, shot for Samuel's defense, but Joel Tagueu, in the rebound, did not forgive.

With this result, Portimonense remains in sixth position in the league table, with 24 points, when 17 rounds of the I Liga are played – that is, the first round of the championship.
