Works at the Portimão Municipal Tennis and Padel Complex are completed

Investment was 420 thousand euros

The requalification works of the Municipal Tennis and Padel Complex in Portimão have already been completed. 

The intervention was carried out by the Portimão Tennis and Padel Club, representing a global investment of 420 thousand euros, which had the support of the Municipality of Portimão in the amount of 117 thousand euros.

The work involved replacing the outer seal and restoring the equipment bench, which was painted and waterproofed.

The works started in 2020 and focused, above all, on the recovery of the floors of the current five tennis courts, with coverage of two of them, in addition to the construction of three new padel courts, which joined the five existing ones, which were covered. following this intervention. The club's investment also included the requalification of the main entrance to the Tennis and Padel Complex.

«The intervention allowed the valorization and modernization of this municipal sports equipment and, simultaneously, the improvement of the conditions of use of the space, contributing to the practice of sports, namely the modalities of tennis and paddle, is increasing and with high standards of comfort and safety», says the Portimão Chamber.

City council support is part of the strategy to requalify the county's sports facilities, through a set of interventions that aim to increase the lifespan of infrastructures and enhance local sporting activity, consolidating the motto "More Sports for All", assumed by the city council. municipality in 2020, following the election of Portimão as the Best European City of Sport 2019.
