Lagoa hosts the opera “Bastien & Bastienne” at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium

The Opera “Bastien & Bastienne”, staged by João de Brito and musically directed by Elsa Mathei, will be on stage on January 22, at 19:00 pm, on stage at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, in Lagoa.

«Bastien un Bastienne is an singspiel (an opera in which arias, duets and trios alternate with spoken dialogue) in one act with a libretto by FW Weiskern, JH Müller and JA Schachtner. This was one of the first works composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and is based on Jean Jacques Rousseau's play Le Devin Du Village. Although he was only 12 years old, little Mozart already showed an extraordinary mastery in the area of ​​composition», says the municipality of Lagoa.

“The libretto tells the story of a young peasant couple. Bastienne is devastated because she fears that her beloved Bastien has fallen in love with a noble lady. However, he comes across the Magician Colas who, being wise, is already aware of what is happening. Between the advice he gives Bastienne to make Bastien jealous and the magic spells he casts on Bastien, the wizard Colas ends up achieving a reconciliation between the two.

The day before the presentation to the public, January 21, the show will have an exclusive session for the county's school public.

Tickets cost six euros and are already on sale. online and also at the physical ticket offices of the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium.

The Opera “Bastien & Bastienne” and the “Different-Mind” Show the responsibility of the ARTIS XXI and Questão Repetida Associations, which will include a translator for Portuguese Sign Language, ensuring that the two performances are for everyone, without exception.
