The photo exhibition “Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo”, which witnesses the gaze of 23 young people aged between 16 and 85 who visited the Fortress of Sagres, will be open to the public, from 12 to 27 January, at the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth ( IPDJ) of the Algarve.

This exhibition is «a visit to the Fortress of Sagres through the eyes of the other, the way he saw and felt that space, how he discovered the tenuous lines, the ephemeral shadows, the details, the imperceptible nuances, the fleeting moments, paralyzing and eternalizing the moment, photographing in a unique and artistic way, producing unforgettable images and memories», says Associação In Loco, responsible for the exhibition.

“Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo” was a project that involved young people who attend the Professional Tourism Technician Course, at the Cândido Guerreiro Professional School, and seniors residing in the parish of Alte, invited to embark on a journey of discovery, exploration, exchange knowledge and artistic creation about the Sagres Fortress.

"A trip that promoted the development of intergenerational relationships and complicity and motivated the knowledge, appreciation, preservation and dissemination of Heritage", highlights Associação In Loco.

The project, based on an original idea by Isa Catarina Mateus, was developed under the Program for the Promotion and Valorization of Monuments (DiVaM), of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.

The exhibition is promoted by a partnership formed by Associação In Loco, the Parish Council of Alte, the Professional School of Alte, CIPRL and its Professional School Cândido Guerreiro, the Center for Animation and Community Development of the Parish of Alte, Casa do People of Alte/Alte Youth.

It had the support of the Municipality of Loulé (Municipal Museum – Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museological Pole), RTA – Algarve Tourism Region and the International Federation of Film Clubs.
