The VIII Forum of Education and Training of the Algarve is back in Albufeira, in the days 27th, 28th and 29th of April, the taking place at the Sports Pavilion, and registration is already open for exhibitors and visits by groups of students.
According to the Municipality of Albufeira, this event is considered "one of the most important education and training forums in the Algarve and Baixo Alentejo", returning in 2022 after not having taken place in the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
OPTO – Education and Training Forum of the Algarve is an event that aims to «support family decisions in the context of the educational, academic and professional path of young students», in an exhibition that brings together in the same space «representatives of higher education, secondary education and professional, languages, mobility and study abroad, as well as other entities, among which the military and relief entities stand out», explains the autarchy.
The last edition of the event, which took place in 2019, was attended by 63 exhibitors and welcomed around six thousand visitors, 500 more compared to 2018.
José Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira, highlights «the regional impact of this forum and its importance for young people, at a time in life when they have to make decisive choices in terms of their academic and professional future».
«This is an excellent opportunity for, for three days, to collect ideas and suggestions for training and professional qualification, offers at secondary and higher education levels and to hear examples and testimonies from professionals from various companies and organizations that can help with their choices”, he stresses.
The mayor also highlights the fact that the partners "decided to resume the organization of the event, taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of exhibitors and visitors".
For this year's edition, interested exhibitors must register in accordance with the participation rules that define the modalities as exhibitor and participant in the Animation Program, by completing the registration form, which must be sent to [email protected] until January 28th.
In addition to spontaneous visits by the entire community, groups of students must formalize their registration for a visit by filling in the visitor form, which should be sent to [email protected], until March 11, 2022.
This forum is a joint organization of the municipality of Albufeira, the General Directorate of School Establishments – Algarve Region Services Directorate (DGEstE) and the Employment and Vocational Training Institute (IEFP), with the collaboration of the three Albufeirense School Groupings.
