Firefighters of São Brás de Alportel have a new Permanent Intervention Team

Half of the team's funding will be guaranteed by the Chamber

The Volunteer Firefighters of São Brás de Alportel made official on Friday, the 7th, the creation of a new Permanent Intervention Team, with the delivery of insignia to the elements of this unit.

This second Permanent Intervention Team of the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of São Brás de Alportel (AHBVSBA) joins the one created in 2012.

The entry into operation of this new unit represents an annual financial effort of 70 thousand euros, which will be supported, in equal parts, by the Chamber of São Brás de Alportel and by the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC), under a protocol signed between these two entities and the AHBVSBA.

For Vitor Martins, commander of the Fire Department of São Brás de Alportel, and for Custódia Reis, president of AHBVSBA, the realization of this new team «is a very important objective in the life of the Fire Department» because it will allow the daily reinforcement of the structure. operational.

Both highlighted «the fundamental role of the Municipality in this improvement of assistance to the population», according to the Chamber.

«One of the main missions as mayors is the protection of our populations», said, on his side, Vítor Guerreiro, mayor of São Brás de Alportel, who considers that the Firefighters «are fundamental elements in achieving this mission».

"During his speech, the mayor reaffirmed the Municipality's availability to collaborate with AHBVSBA to carry out its vital and permanent mission of supporting the community", concludes the municipality.
