“Algarve Surfing Cup” brings Algarve surfers to Praia da Rocha in Portimão

Praia da Rocha, in Portimão, will host, this weekend, the 29th and 30th of January, the first edition of the “Algarve Surfing Cup” championship, with the aim of bringing together all the clubs in the region and promoting unity and conviviality. among the main surfing entities in the Algarve.

The competition will feature several surf clubs, namely, Lagos Surf Clube, Albufeira Surf Clube, Algarve Surf Clube, Associação Dinamika, Clube Surf de Aljezur, Clube Naval de Portimão, Clube de Surf de Faro, Portimão Marina Yacht Club, Lagos Ocean Sports Club and Portimão Surf Club.

There will be three modalities, surfing and bodyboarding, with the sub12, sub16, open, masters (+40) and female categories, and longboard, with the female and open categories.

The three clubs with the highest score will receive, as a prize, a trophy and, for each of the twelve categories, there will also be prizes, with a medal being awarded to the athlete with the highest score in each category.

The championship will also have a conviviality, the “DEEPLY Groms Meeting”, which is a meeting for the smallest surfers. There will be prizes barbecue and interaction between athletes, parents and coaches.

Registration costs 20 euros for each athlete, and registration, with dinner included, costs 35 euros. If the athlete wants to register with dinner and accommodation, the value will be 50 euros.

The event is organized by Portimão Surf Clube and has the support of the Portimão City Council and the Portimão Parish Council.
