Helder Martins, candidate for president of AHETA – Association of Hotels and Tourist Enterprises of the Algarve, counts, in its honor committee, with names such as the entrepreneur and father of Portuguese tourism André Jordan, António Saraiva, president of the Portuguese Business Confederation, Desidério Silva, former leader of the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA), and Vítor Neto, former Secretary of State for Tourism.
The honorary committee of Hélder Martins also includes Nuno Aires, former president of RTA, Carlos Luís, former president of the Algarve Tourism Association, and Frederico Costa, who was president of Turismo de Portugal.
These are also joined by many entrepreneurs and managers linked to the tourism sector, hotel units, local accommodation entrepreneurs and regional figures from all over the Algarve.
Under the motto “For a comprehensive and renewed AHETA”, the B list, headed by businessman and former president of the Algarve Tourism Region Helder Martins, aims to «a review of the association's statutes, which allows an adaptation to the needs of members to the current reality».
The application also aims to “increase the number of associates in all sectors of activity, in addition to hotels, such as complementary accommodation, tourist real estate, golf, tourist entertainment and transport”.
The program also covers a set of actions «focused on improving accessibility, both in terms of the intercity transport network and also in air traffic, through the feasibility of an air bridge Faro – Lisbon and the capture and reinforcement of flights from the main outbound markets in Europe», explains the application to AHETA.
With regard to support for members, «the development of a Study Office and areas of Investor Advice is planned, in addition to the organization of an annual congress of AHETA and the constitution of the association as a training entity».
