António Olaio's performance closes the exhibition “Shazaaam?” in Faro

Concert/performance will take place this Saturday, December 18th, at 21 pm, at DeVIR/CAPa

The multimedia exhibition “Shazaaam?” will close this Saturday, December 18th, at 21 pm, with a concert/performance “Anywhere Else”, the latest musical project by António Olaio, at DeVIR/CAPa – Centro de Artes Performativas do Algarve, in Faro.

This show will feature the performance and voice of António Olaio, with video projection also by the musician. The project has the collaboration of Richard Strange, Victor Torpedo, Silvestre Correia, Vitor Rua, Frederico Nunes, Anselmo Canha, Paulo Furtado, José Valente, Érika Machado, Susana Chiocca, Ana Deus, Miguel Carvalhais and Haarvöl (Fernando José Pereira, João Faria and Rui Manuel Vieira).

António Olaio was born in 1963, in Lubango. His performances in the early 80s led him to music. He belonged to the “Repórter Estrábico”, between 1986 and 1991 and, since 1996, he has performed alongside the musician João Taborda. In 2020 another path began, with the collaboration of different musicians.

He held exhibitions and performances in Portugal, Spain, Germany, the United States, France and the Netherlands and, today, he is director of the Colégio das Artes, a professor in the Architecture course and a researcher at the Center for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra.

Until Saturday, the 18th of December, it will remain on display at Fábrica da Cerveja, in Faro, multimedia exhibition “Shazaaam?” which counts with the participation of a group of contemporary authors, from cinema, music, performance and visual arts, with paths in Portugal and abroad.
