Odemira has the only pharmacy in the entire district of Beja that offers free tests

In mainland Portugal, 35% of municipalities do not have pharmacies with free tests

Odemira has the only pharmacy in the entire district of Beja to carry out rapid tests for Covid-19 antigen, subsidized by the State.

In a survey carried out by Sul Informação, on the platform available on the Infarmed website, there are no more pharmacies in the district to do the Covid-19 test for free.

O PCP already questioned the Government on whether he agrees that the population of the district of Beja is “practically excluded from an important public health measure”. The question was addressed to the Minister of Health and signed by communist deputies João Dias and Paula Santos.

In mainland Portugal, 35% of municipalities do not provide this service and no district has every municipality with at least one pharmacy carrying out tests subsidized by the State.

The negative test submission to Covid-19, with the new testing measures implemented by the Government, it became mandatory, even for those vaccinated, for visits to homes or entry into bars and clubs.

This test is also necessary for visits to patients admitted to health facilities, large events without marked spaces or in makeshift venues and sports venues such as football stadiums.

However, the demand for these tests soared in pharmacies and This Tuesday, November 30th, Portugal hit a new daily high, having done 117 tests on Covid-19.
