Fernando Reis, director of Jornal do Algarve died

He was responsible for the weekly based in Vila Real de Santo António since 1983

Fernando Reis, director of Jornal do Algarve, died today at the age of 66, at the Hospital de Faro, where he was hospitalized for several weeks.

Fernando de Sant'Águeda Gutierres Reis, born in Vila Real de Santo António, had a degree in History, having been a secondary school teacher for some years in schools in his homeland and in Loulé.

In 1983, he founded Viprensa, a company that became the owner of Jornal do Algarve, having been its director since then, although at first alternating with José Lança.

There is still no date for the funeral ceremonies.

The Sul Informação he addresses to the whole family, in particular to his wife Luísa Travassos and daughters Susana and Marta, the most heartfelt condolences and a hug of solidarity.
