Restaurant To See Tavira

To See Tavira, by chef Luís Brito, and Al South, by chef Louis Anjos, integrated in the Clubhouse do Golfe Palmares, in Lagos, are the two restaurants in the Algarve that will now be able to boast a Michelin star at their doorstep and will be part of the Michelin guide, in the 2022 edition.

In total, there are five more restaurants awarded the coveted Michelin star in Portugal. In addition to the two Algarvians, in Porto, there is the Vila Foz restaurant, by chef Arnaldo Azevedo, in Lisbon, it is Cura, by the Ritz Four Seasons restaurant, led by chef Pedro Pena Bastos, while in Alentejo, in Reguengos de Monsaraz , also the Esporão restaurant, by chef Carlos Teixeira, received its star.

Esporão also debuted in the category of Michelin green stars, which highlight the restaurants that are at the forefront of sustainable gastronomy. The other Portuguese space to be awarded this way was the Madeiran Il Gallo D'Oro.

In total, Portugal now has 33 Michelin-starred restaurants, seven with two stars and the remaining 26 with one. The Algarve has eight restaurants on this exclusive list, two of which have two stars.

After last year, the Michelin star gala was only virtual, this time it was again in person. The ceremony took place this Tuesday, the 14th of December, at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, in Valencia (Spain), with 600 guests.
