To Gil Silva, director of Teatro Municipal de Faro, “It is very interesting to have FICLA in our city, as we are investing in these new formats and new cultural options. It's important to have this festival, to welcome it and to be supporting it from the beginning».

«It is a great event to host this festival here in Faro», he stressed.

For her part, Adriana Nogueira, regional director of Culture in the Algarve, who, even before taking on this role, was one of FICLO's mentors, said she was "very happy" with this change in the festival.

"These are two of the arts that we support and FICLA wants to keep them, also linking them to other areas that relate to them," he added.

«This festival has brought to the Algarve and the country a series of films that are not shown in traditional cinemas. So if you want to see them, you have to come to FICLA. I hope that what they have done in previous editions, of actions throughout the Algarve region, and not just in the place that hosts the festival, will also continue to be done to give reason to this new name», stressed Adriana Nogueira.

Débora Pinho Mateus also guaranteed that «the project has to grow to start asserting itself».

“It is not an immediate thing and it will take time, but the fact that we have guests from other countries makes it known. These are small steps, but important for a festival that is going into its third edition», he considered.

“We are aware that a festival like FICLA takes time to consolidate, any international festival takes time, but have patience and trust us, as we think we are on the right path”, concluded Candela Vara.
