Applications for the Loulé Theater Support Grant are open until the 10th of January. This is "support that has been central in encouraging new creations by local entities and associations" and is aimed at the associative and artistic milieu (agents and structures with legal personality and headquartered in the municipality), including amateur and professional projects, a total value of 75 thousand euros.
According to Loulé City Council, the Theater Support Grant «is an important instrument to support theatrical creation, since the focus is on the presentation of new plays, which has allowed amateur groups and professionals based in the municipality to have an effective support for the creative component».
The Theater Support Grant allows, on the other hand, according to the municipality, «the decentralization of cultural practices and dynamics in the municipality of Loulé, as it implies the presentation by each amateur group of three shows, two of which must be performed in the parishes of the county».
The Scholarship also encourages «the external promotion and circulation of professional Louletian theater structures, forcing two presentations in other municipalities in the Algarve that integrate the Rede Azul – Network of Theaters of the Algarve, of which Cineteatro Louletano is a member. This incentive also has a training dimension, contributing to greater training and artistic qualification of the various competing structures».
Candidates - amateurs and professionals - must submit their proposals to the Municipality of Loulé through the Cineteatro Louletano via e-mail ([email protected]) or sending them by mail to the Cineteatro Louletano, (Av. José da Costa Mealha, 8100-501 Loulé), until January 10, 2022, .
All applications submitted after that date will be excluded.
