Olhão teacher wins “Teacher Innovator of Portuguese Milage Learning+ 2020/21” award

Sílvia Domingos, Portuguese and English teacher, will receive the “Innovative Portuguese Teacher Milage Learn+ 2020/21” award on Friday, December 10th at 11:30 am, at the Professor Paula Nogueira school, where she teaches and holds various positions of coordination.

According to the University of Algarve, which develops the Milage Learning+ platform, Sílvia Domingos stood out «in the creation of innovative resources, involving the recreational exploration of poems by António Gedeão».

The professor who will receive the award has a degree from the University of Lisbon and a Master's from the University of Algarve, being the coordinator of the curricular department and also of Curriculum Autonomy and Flexibility at the Professor Paula Nogueira School Group, in Olhão, as well as being responsible for the training of the teaching and non-teaching staff.

“Teachers from the most diverse areas of the country” applied for this category of the competition, highlighted the UAlg.
As for the Milage Learning+ platform, which is at the heart of the initiative, «it is developed by the University of Algarve, with resources for teaching all subjects, organized by years of schooling, from pre-school to 12th grade, which can be used in classroom or distance learning».

These awards were selected during the 3rd Edition of the Milage Aprender+ Awards, organized by the University of Algarve, in partnership with the Municipality of Oeiras, the Paço de Arcos and Aquilino Ribeiro School Groups, the Oeiras Municipality School Training Center , General Directorate of Education, Mathematics Teachers Association, Portuguese Teachers Association, Portuguese Press Association, INCoDe 2030, Portuguese Mathematics Society, SeguraNet, Portuguese Association of English Teachers, Portuguese Association of Spanish Language Teachers Foreign, National Reading Plan 2027, with the support of Google, Texas Instruments, The Inventors, Garvetur, and the European Union Erasmus+ program, LEARN+ and INCOLLAB projects.
