It's called “Diferente-Mente” and it's a show dedicated to artists with disabilities with sessions scheduled for the 14th of January, in Lagoa, and the 15th of the same month, in Lagos.
The initiative is promoted by Artis XXI and Questão Repetida.
The showDifferent-Mente will take to the stage at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, in Lagoa, and the Duval Pestana Auditorium, in Lagos, with two performances: “Ser Different-Mente” and “Viram a Ana?”.
«Differente-Mente was designed by local artists and prioritizes their participation, contributing to the establishment of artists in the region, also assuming a way of promoting cultural activities during the season of medium/low seasonal tourism», explains the organization.
«The project aims to create space for reflection on how our society, attentive and concerned, looks at inclusion and how this manifests itself in the artistic community. Different-Mente also marks the debut of D'Algibeira Companhia», he adds.
The performance “Did you see Ana?” it is based on the homonymous book by Susanna Matiangeli-Chiara Carrer.
For Elsa Mathei, executive director of the showDifferent-Mente, «the creation of this project aimed to encourage reflection while making art, driven by the need to raise awareness of the professional situation of artists with disabilities and the urgency of creating artistic experiences within the inclusive school community».
“We also want to bring the arts to our public schools and allow students with disabilities to express themselves and benefit from the immeasurable joy that the arts can bring. We want to address the lack of professional opportunities and accessible spaces for action that are essential to promote the inclusion of professionals with disabilities in the performing arts», he concludes.
Tickets, which cost 3 euros, will be on sale here and reservations can be made to email@example.com.
Both sessions start at 19pm.
