Film Club of Faro ZOOM IN to celebrate the life and work of Jorge Silva Melo

Initiatives will run until the 19th of December

The Film Club of Faro will carry out, from this Friday, December 3rd, until the 19th, the first part of an activity dedicated to celebrating the life and work of Jorge Silva Melo. Tonight, at 21 pm, the documentary work “We're not done yet, as if it were a letter” will be shown at the Cineclube headquarters.

Director, actor, filmmaker and critic, Jorge Silva Melo is «one of the mainstays of Portuguese culture and it is on him that the lens of our ZOOM IN will focus», says the Cineclube de Faro.

The initiative will start this evening, December 3rd, at 21 pm, at the Cineclube de Faro, with the projection of the self-portrait documentary by Jorge Silva Melo, “We're not finished yet, as if it were a letter”, which spans half a century of memories, projects and encounters.

Tomorrow, the 4th, the work of Jorge Silva Melo, “Álvaro Lapa: A Literatura”, will be shown at 18:00, at the Temple of Time, in Silves.

On Sunday, December 5th, it is the turn of the 289 Association, in Faro, receive, at 18 pm, “Sofia Areal: An Anti-Pain Cabinet” and “António Sena: A Mão Esquiva”.

On the 11th, at 18 pm, the LAC – Creative Activities Laboratory, in Lagos, will have the screening of “Joaquim Bravo, Évora, 00, etc., etc., Felicidade” and “Nikias Skapinakis: O Teatro dos Outros”.

The following day, December 12th, “Fernando Lemos: How, isn't it a portrait?” it will be presented at 18 pm at the Casa do Meio Dia, in Loulé.

The works “A. Palolo: See Thought Running” and “Ana Vieira: and what is not seen” are the choices made by the Cineclube de Faro to be seen, at 21 pm, at the Visual Arts Building, on the Penha campus of the University of Algarve.

The Miguel Cheta studio, in Loulé, will stage “A África de José Guimarães” and “Ângelo de Sousa: everything I'm capable of”, on December 18, at 18 pm.

To end this first part of the activity in honor of Jorge Silva Melo, the Oficina Bartolomeu dos Santos, in Tavira, will exhibit on December 19, at 18:00 pm, the works “Bartolomeu Cid dos Santos: Por Terras Devastadas” and “A Gravura: this mutual learning”.
