Câmara de Lagos approves opening of tender to concession urban transport until 2025

The opening of the competition will be voted by the Municipal Assembly of Lagos on the 27th of December

The Câmara de Lagos has already approved the opening of a tender for the concession, until 2025, of the urban transport service “A Onda”.

The procedure, which has a base price of 4,2 million euros, «aims to continue the public passenger transport system, known as “A Onda”, and reflects four axes: service safety, accessibility, sustainability of provision and proximity to all users”, says the City Council of Lagos.

The network will maintain geographic coverage with the operation of 10 lines, intending to have 18 vehicles with varied capacity in operation.

According to the municipality, "vehicles must meet criteria such as easy access for the elderly and the disabled, spaces reserved for people in wheelchairs or people with reduced mobility, and allow access and transport of bicycles."

It is also planned to reinforce the regular passenger transport service during school hours, as well as in July and August, to respond to the increase in demand that is registered at these times.

The opening of the competition will be voted on by the Municipal Assembly of Lagos on the 27th of December.
