São Brás de Alportel Library promotes youth reading with the “Vacation Together” program

Program has been running since November

The Dr. Estanco Louro Municipal Library, in São Brás de Alportel, joined “Juntos de Ferias”, a reading promotion program launched by the National Reading Plan for school holidays, and has already been promoting it since the 22nd from November.

The initiative aims to "encourage a taste for books and reading by young people aged between 10 and 15 during holiday periods, be they summer, Christmas or Easter," says the São Brasense municipality.

Young people are challenged «to read a set of books selected by the National Reading Plan 2027, which are associated with the mobile application “LeR+ Challenges”, available on the Play Store», and where it is also possible to access «a set of games and challenges related to the recommended books and which, only after reading them, will it be possible to resolve successfully».

To participate, young people have to read the proposed books, which can be found in an appropriate display in the Library's children's room, download the application, solve the games and challenges presented, try to get the maximum score and be eligible to win prizes.

This initiative is the result of a partnership between the National Network of Public Libraries, through the Directorate-General for Books, Archives and Libraries and the National Reading Plan – Contests.
