The opera “Bastien und Bastienne”, by Mozart, in a format adapted to children, has screenings scheduled for January 21st and 22nd, at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, in Lagoa.

«This is one of the first works composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, based on the play by Jean Jacques Rousseau, Le Devin Du Village, composed when the little author was only 12 years old, but already revealed an extraordinary mastery in the area of composition». say the associations Artis XXI and Questão Repetida, responsible for the show.

The plot tells the love story between a young peasant couple: Bastienne and Bastien.

On a scenic level, the plastic concept addresses the Barlavento Algarvio and its contemporaneity, creating a point of identification that aims to build bridges with the younger audience.

The opera is co-produced by ARTIS XXI and Questão Repetida and features the Orquestra D'Aquém Mar. The artistic and musical direction are by Elsa Mathei and the staging is by João de Brito.

The shows for schools are on January 21st, at 11:00 am and 14:00 pm, while on the 22nd, the presentation is intended for the general public, at 19:00 pm.
